King Saul and Judas were not mentally ill. They made choices as the Scriptures clearly show. The Scriptures speak for themselves and we can either believe what they say or assume otherwise. The Scriptures state that God cut them off. Their names were removed from the book of life in being cut off.

King Saul and Judas were demonic. People who are demonic are not mentally or emotionally fit. They have another power usurping their own personal power and most of all, if they are believers, they have compromised and given ground from what the Holy Spirit had been given.

People who have given themselves over to the enemy have heaven to lose, and had been cut off long before Satan took their lives.

Thats why we are commanded to resist these powers and not give ourselves over to them. Its still choice.

Saul dissobeyed God and God refused to speak to him again. It is recorded in Scripture how the spirit left him when he sinned (1 Sam. 16:12-23). Saul went into spiritualism and God said He would cut off the man who did this thing (Lev. 19:31; 20:6; Deut. 18:11). Saul was a humble and godly man when he was chosen to lead Israel, (1 Sam. 10:21-24) but he did not end this way.

Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the LORD, even against the word of the LORD, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to enquire of it. If he was sick, demonic or in any way injured it is not mentioned in the Scriptures? The Scriptures state that Saul was once in God's favour and grace and he had the Holy Spirit and that he lost that favour and was destroyed because of sin" (! Chron 10:13 ; 1 Chron. 10:3-14), and not because he became demonic or ill. Saul comitted suicide and thereby was lost, for no murderer has eternal life (1 Sam. 28:7-25; 31:1-6; 1 John 3:15; Gal. 5:19-21). He murdered himself thereby cutting himself off from any chance of repentance.

Saul even asked his own men to run him through and they refused in fear. They knew it was wrong to do such a thing, "Therefore Saul took a sword, and fell upon it." (1 Sam. 31:4).

While all disease has its roots in Satan, we are not demonic when we fall ill to diseases such as Cancer, Diabetes Mellitus, or even Depression.

Absolutely. All sin is foolish. But we will stand before the Lord Jesus Christ as redeemed ones, forgiven and righteous because of His blood---foolishness and all. And those poor in spirit, who succumbed to their disease which caused them to have erratic thoughts and compulsions will be welcomed into the loving and comforting arms of their Saviour, never to suffer such turmoil again.
